ATLANTIC CITY, NJ, UNITED STATES, September 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Bay Atlantic Symphony is set to display its versatility and artistry in an upcoming season that balances epic scale with close-up musical experiences. The top-tier professional orchestra from South Jersey will welcome exceptional guest artists alongside its own accomplished musicians across a series of five performances.
“A lot of the music featured this season was once considered ahead of its time, yet it has since become beloved highlights of the repertoire,” remarked Music Director Jed Gaylin.
The season opens Friday, October 30 and Sunday, November 1 with “Mozart Mania!”—a program that pairs Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s most elegant creations, from the radiant and cheerful Symphony No. 39 to the intense, personal, and introspective “Requiem.” The orchestra will be joined by a stellar lineup of four vocal soloists and the ever-impressive 130-member Greater South Jersey Chorus for this opening event.
The annual “Holiday Cheer” concert, scheduled for Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13, will offer beloved seasonal melodies designed to raise voices and spirits in celebration of Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas.
This year introduces a new offering titled “Valentine’s Day Card, with Love,” featuring Gaylin on piano performing Mozart’s “Kegelstadt Trio,” followed by Johannes Brahms’ “Clarinet Quintet” with Concertmaster Ruotao Mao providing a special solo violin feature. This event takes place Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14.
March arrives with a touch of enchantment. “Listeners will find it difficult not to hum along to the well-known melodies of George Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue,’ performed by the highly praised pianist Sara Davis Buechner,” said Gaylin. The program is rounded out by Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” adding further musical intensity. This concert is a single performance on Sunday, March 2.
Although the Bay Atlantic Symphony has performed Sergei Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf” for student audiences in past years, this marks its first appearance in a regular subscription series. That changes on Sunday, April 25, when Dominican actor Carol Espinal narrates his own bilingual adaptation of the famous piece in a one-time-only show. Following that, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Eroica”—often hailed as the most groundbreaking symphony ever written—will close the season with power and momentum.
Season subscribers who purchase at least four of the five concerts can enjoy discounted ticket rates. Both subscription packages and single tickets are available via the Bay Atlantic Symphony’s website at www.bayatlanticsymphony.org.
