Propstore’s Music Live Auction generates $3.2 Million during the first day of the event

A Takamine acoustic guitar owned and signed by Noel Gallagher, used during Oasis’s 1996 MTV Unplugged appearance, sold for $299,376, establishing a new world record for the highest auction price ever paid for an Oasis acoustic guitar. The top lot of the day was Freddie Mercury’s notebook, which includes handwritten working lyrics and notes from the Mr. Bad Guy recording sessions, selling for $365,904.

Over Day 1, rare instruments, handwritten lyrics, stage-worn items, and personal keepsakes collectively reached $3.2 million, inclusive of buyer’s premium. The auction’s second day continues today (Friday, October 2nd, 2026).
HIGHLIGHTS

Noel Gallagher’s owned and signed Takamine FP460SC acoustic guitar, featured during Oasis’s 1996 MTV Unplugged performance, set a world record as the highest-priced Oasis acoustic guitar ever sold at auction, commanding $299,376.

The most valuable lot on Day 1 was a notebook holding Freddie Mercury’s handwritten working lyrics and notes from the sessions for his debut solo album, Mr. Bad Guy, which brought in $365,904. This item was part of The Reinhold Mack Collection, a grouping of handwritten lyrics, recording memorabilia, and personal presents that document the producer’s close bond and creative partnership with Mercury. The collection’s cumulative total has reached $980,415 including buyer’s premium, with 43 lots sold on Day 1 and an additional 41 from the collection available today (October 2), on Day 2, offering fans and collectors worldwide the opportunity to bid on pieces from this historic archive.

Another notable result was Michael Jackson’s photo-matched black-and-gold military-style jacket, worn at several public events during the Dangerous and HIStory eras, which sold for $299,376. This item, part of The Omer Bhatti Collection, came directly from the Norwegian rapper and dancer, to whom Jackson gave it as a gift.
