“Music is of divine origin. It does not come in vain. It is given with purpose, and that purpose is to uplift, enlighten, and awaken. A musical fire is supposed to inspire.” — Prezident Brown

PREZIDENT BROWN has carved out a respected space in the reggae world through a career built on conviction and a steady commitment to conscious music. The international Jamaican recording artist, singer, songwriter, and chanter has spent years crafting sounds that speak across generations while holding onto reggae’s core themes of faith, hope, justice, and social awareness. His latest full-length project, HOOK, LINE AND SINKER, brings together songs penned at various points in his journey. Whether fresh out of the studio or revisited from earlier days, every track carries the same dedication to conscious reggae, uplifting energy, and enduring truth.

For PREZIDENT BROWN, the album and its title track strike a deliberate balance between meaningful reflection and genuine enjoyment. His work consistently showcases lyrical depth, spiritual awareness, and musical craftsmanship, which has earned him lasting admiration across the reggae community. Each recording is built to pull listeners in with entertainment while also educating, informing, and inspiring. The moment has arrived.

“My songs are written in the format of what I call ‘Hook, Line and Sinker.’ The hook line catches the people’s ears. The hook line is lighter, and the sinker is heavier. The verses are where I develop the subject and bring out the full weight of the message. That is the sinker: the consciousness, the truth, and the inspiration coming together. Music is of divine origin. It does not come in vain. It is given with purpose, and that purpose is to uplift, enlighten, and awaken. A musical fire is supposed to inspire.” -PREZIDENT BROWN

HOOK, LINE AND SINKER rests on pillars of faith, peace, justice, love, resilience, and celebration. The twelve recordings each bring their own viewpoint while staying aligned with the album’s founding spirit. Tracks like “Hail Rastafari Forevermore,” “Let the Guns Kill No More,” “Disarm the Weapon,” “Golden Rose,” and “Play This Song (Mr. DJ)” showcase the range of the project, moving from spiritual devotion and pleas for peace to heartfelt festivity and the pure joy of reggae. Each song holds its own while fitting into the larger theme of the collection.

PREZIDENT BROWN’s roots run deep in Jamaica’s sound system culture, where he developed a unique chanting style that weaves together storytelling, social commentary, and musical skill into recordings with substance and staying power. Born Fitz Albert Cotterell in Johnny’s Hill, located in the Bullhead Mountains of Clarendon, Jamaica, he draws heavily from the environment, heritage, and spiritual grounding that formed him. The pulse of rural Jamaica, the art of storytelling, Rastafari spirituality, and the island’s famous sound system scene became the building blocks of an artistic voice known for its raw strength, spiritual depth, and lyrical honesty. These foundations continue to shape music that reaches both the heart and the mind while paying tribute to reggae’s legacy.

Fans know him simply as “Prez,” a name that reflects the quiet confidence, dignity, and leadership that inspired it. He also goes by “Towerman,” a moniker that points to both his towering 6’3″ frame and the standing he has achieved through years of dedication to reggae and its message.

The album comes from the collaboration of Devon Bradshaw for AXX Records and Fitz Cotterell for Towerman Productions, reflecting a joint commitment to musicianship, authenticity, and reggae’s lasting traditions. Recording and mixing took place at AXX Studio in Port Antonio, Jamaica, with mastering handled at Anchor Studio in Kingston, Jamaica. The project is the product of hard work and cooperation among the musicians, producers, and engineers who brought it to life.

HOOK, LINE AND SINKER hits all major digital streaming and download platforms on October 30, 2026. Physical copies on CD and Vinyl will also be available in stores and online.
