When a voice that has shaped gospel music for decades decides to stop recording, the moment carries weight. Donnie McClurkin’s new album FINALLY (Camdon Music) is that milestone—a project that closes his recording career while leaving the door open for live performances, radio hosting, and pastoral ministry.

The album, now available on all streaming platforms, arrives as McClurkin’s last recorded work. Distributed by Tennessee-based Syntax Creative, it caps a journey that has inspired generations of gospel listeners and sold millions of albums worldwide.

For FINALLY, McClurkin reunited with producers Trent Phillips and Tre’ Corley, with co-production by McClurkin and Jerard Woods. The creative team, built on years of trust and shared musical vision, crafted a project that honors both his legacy and the faith at the core of his ministry.

The album gains momentum from its current single, “Lord, I Thank You.” Written by McClurkin and produced by longtime collaborator Trent Phillips, the song has found a warm reception at gospel radio and continues climbing the charts. Its message of gratitude arrives as a timely reflection on God’s faithfulness through every season of life.

That single follows the success of FINALLY’s lead track, “Better Afterwhile,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel chart. Produced by Tre’ Corley, the song extends a partnership that previously produced McClurkin’s chart-topping hit “I Need You.” Together, these singles set the stage for an album full of encouragement, conviction, and heartfelt worship—the very elements audiences have come to expect from McClurkin’s music.

“FINALLY is my way of saying thank you to God for the gift of music and to everyone who has embraced these songs and supported me through the years,” says McClurkin. “As I close this chapter of recording, my prayer is that this album strengthens your faith and gives you another reason to worship. There is still more ministry ahead, and I look forward to continuing that journey with you.”

The album features notable guest appearances that add to its significance. Gospel legend Tramaine Hawkins joins McClurkin on “Lord, You’re All I Need,” while acclaimed Christian music artist Michael W. Smith performs his classic “Place In This World” alongside McClurkin. These collaborations bring together voices that have each left their mark on gospel and Christian music.

While this marks the end of his recording chapter, McClurkin’s presence will continue through The Donnie McClurkin Show, his nationally syndicated radio program. Now in its third decade on air, the show reaches more than five million listeners weekly across 80 markets, offering music, inspiration, and conversation that extend his ministry far beyond the studio.

FINALLY serves as both a farewell to recording and a celebration of a lasting gospel legacy. As McClurkin moves into this next season, the album offers listeners one more opportunity to connect with the music and ministry that have made his voice a cherished presence in gospel.
