For a musician who spent years packing showrooms in Las Vegas, the road to Nashville can feel impossibly long. But for country artist Sam Riddle, that journey is finally reaching its destination with the October 30, 2026 release of Last Train to Nashville on Epifonic Records—an album born not just from songwriting sessions but from a lifetime of detours, decisions, and the courage to keep chasing a dream.

From his Montana roots to the bright lights of Vegas, the country singer-songwriter turns a long-held Nashville dream into a deeply personal collection of songs
I was blown away. What a great country anthem! I told him, write ten more like that!”— Keith Chester

NASHVILLE, TN, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — For country artist Sam Riddle, Nashville has always been more than a place on the map. It represents a dream, a destination and an unfinished chapter in a musical journey that stretches from his Montana roots through the bright lights of Las Vegas and ultimately to the heart of country music.
With the anticipated October 30, 2026 release of his new album, ‘Last Train to Nashville’, on Epifonic Records, Riddle is sharing the music behind that journey — and the remarkable story of how the album’s title song came to life.
Born and raised in Montana, Riddle brings a background far removed from the conventional Nashville music-industry pipeline. Rather than heading directly to Music City, he chose a different road, spending years honing his craft, his songwriting and his formidable piano skills amid the abundant stages and bright lights of Las Vegas. It was an environment that allowed him to develop his identity as both a songwriter and a live entertainer.
Always on his mind as he was packing showrooms and wondering when Nashville would come to him – was the realization that Nashville was a place that you had to go. Riddle understood the significance of Music City and its storied songwriting traditions. He flew back and forth regularly, immersing himself into the Nashville community, and then back to Las Vegas, where he had established a very successful career. That enduring connection would ultimately become the inspiration for Last Train to Nashville.
A Song Born on Music Row
The title track began with an idea brought to Nashville by Riddle’s producer and collaborator, Keith Chester, who had relocated from Texas to pursue new opportunities in the music industry. Chester arrived with a title, a chorus, and an unfinished song reflecting his own decision to leave behind familiar surroundings, friends and family for another shot at a lifelong dream.
When he shared the idea with Riddle, Sam went straight to the piano that afternoon to put his stamp on it.
“When Keith showed me this song he had, I couldn’t believe how much it resonated and felt like my story,” Riddle recalls. “It was a reflection of how he felt leaving Texas and heading to Nashville for one more shot at the brass ring. He handed it to me and said, ‘Turn it into a piano song.’”
“The next day, I played the chorus back to him on piano, and he loved it. Then we sat right there together in his office on Music Row and finished writing the song. It felt like magic right away.” What began as one man’s reflection on leaving home had suddenly become something more. For Chester, the song represented the courage to chase another opportunity. For Riddle, it echoed his own relationship with Nashville — and that the time is now.
When Riddle began performing the song live, audiences immediately recognized that connection. “Once I started playing it live, it became obvious that we had something special,” Riddle says. “People kept telling me, ‘That’s your story.’ And in a lot of ways, they were right. It was pretty cool to see how a song that started as Keith’s story could become mine, too.”
An Album That Found Its Own Direction
The album itself grew out of a creative partnership fueled by Riddle’s remarkable songwriting output.
“I remember when Sam first played me ‘Drink With Your Name On It,’” says Chester. “I was blown away. What a great country anthem! I told him, ‘Write ten more like that!’ It didn’t take long for me to realize just how prolific a songwriter Sam really is. The hits just kept coming.”
As their collaboration developed, what began as a collection of individual songs evolved into a project with a larger identity — one reflecting Riddle’s musical personality, his experiences, and the path that brought him to this moment.
At the center of it all stood Last Train to Nashville, a song whose meaning reached well beyond its title.
It’s a story about taking chances, believing in your dreams, and recognizing that sometimes the road you’ve traveled is just as important as the place you’re trying to reach.
For Riddle, Las Vegas remains an important part of that story. The city provided the stages, the audiences and the opportunities that helped shape him as an entertainer. Nashville represents another side of the same journey: the tradition of country songwriting and the promise of what might still lie ahead.
With Last Train to Nashville, those two worlds finally come together. And perhaps that’s the real meaning behind the album’s title. It isn’t necessarily about catching the last train. It’s about never giving up on the destination.
