Before the heartbreak and before hope returned, there was a girl who dreamed of love in vivid, cinematic detail. That’s the moment Grammy-winning artist Alya explores in her new single, a chronological prequel that rewinds the emotional journey of her upcoming album.

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, October 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — While “BELIEVER” chronicled the instant Alya rediscovered her capacity for love, “DREAMING” transports listeners to the origin of that belief—a time when love existed purely in the imagination of a young girl in Eastern Europe, long before reality shaped her understanding of it.
Released today, “DREAMING” serves as the narrative predecessor to her recent single and offers another window into In The Moment, an album conceived as an interwoven musical autobiography tracing her path toward love. Instead of advancing the storyline chronologically, Alya is unveiling it in reverse, this time spotlighting the childhood fantasies that predated any real romantic experience.

“I was always a dreamer of romance, although it wasn’t nourished or encouraged in my culture” Alya says.
Raised in Eastern Europe, Alya occupied herself with imagining the small, almost film-like rituals of romance: hands intertwined, fleeting eye contact, shared laughter, and a depth of connection she doubted would ever materialize in her own existence. These private, cherished vignettes ultimately became the creative bedrock upon which “DREAMING” was constructed.
Sonically, the track blends pop foundations with R&B and soul textures, featuring Alya’s silky lead vocals riding an effortless, catchy groove, enriched by layered backing harmonies she crafted alongside co-producer Yeezo.
Interestingly, the song’s rhythmic core was born in a home studio setting.
Alya initially developed the musical concept while experimenting with instruments in her personal studio, recording her creation and forwarding it to producer Tim Carmon to flesh out. That spontaneous home-studio spark evolved into a complete full-band arrangement, characterized by its rhythmic pulse, relaxed vibe, and a feeling of fluid motion.
“This song and the forthcoming album all came so effortlessly in terms of writing because most of it came from the diary of my mind” Alya says.
With production by Tim Carmon and co-production by Yeezo, “DREAMING” features an accomplished ensemble of musicians: Mateo Laboriel on drums and acoustic guitar, Errol Cooney on electric guitar, Courtney Leonard on bass, and Carmon handling keys and additional instrumentation. Dexter Simmons mixed the track, with mastering by Dave Collins.

Whereas “BELIEVER” was forged from the crucible of heartbreak and the surprising resurgence of hope, “DREAMING” exists in a space before all that—within the realm of anticipation, imagination, and the sheer potential of what love might one day become. Collectively, these tracks illuminate the non-linear narrative approach defining In The Moment: a record that gazes backward as much as it propels forward.
This release also complements the artistic universe Alya has cultivated around emotionally resonant, cinematic pop. The Grammy-winning artist has amassed over 50 million views across social platforms, and her diverse collaborations with artists such as Eric Clapton, Erica Campbell, and D Smoke have traversed pop, gospel, and soul genres.
With “DREAMING,” however, the focus turns intentionally inward. Before the heartbreak, before the renewed faith, and before the story coalesced into an album, there was simply a girl dreaming about what love could look like. Through this single, Alya invites listeners to meet her in that very moment of innocent possibility.

Why it matters: By choosing to reveal her story in reverse, Alya is challenging conventional album narratives and offering a more layered, psychological portrait of an artist. This release signals that In The Moment will be as much about excavating the past as it is about celebrating the present, giving fans a deeper, more intimate connection to the music.
