This original contemporary opera marks the debut classical album for both American coloratura soprano Farrah Mechael and Middle Eastern composer Mehran Matin.
Before she could speak, Farrah's first vocal expressions weren't words- they were the soaring operatic melodies from Sleeping Beauty's forest scene. For us, returning to opera feels like coming home.”— Tamara MechaelLOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, August 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The release of “Remembrance” has been announced by Farrah Mechael and Mehran Matin, available through Scorpio Productions’ AngelSound Records. This original contemporary opera unites artists from the United States and the Middle East in a poignant classical collaboration focused on remembrance, love, faith, and healing.
The album features Farrah Mechael (coloratura soprano) alongside acclaimed Middle Eastern composer Mehran Matin, whose expressive piano work forms the emotional backbone of the project. Songwriter Tamara Mechael provided the original lyrics, while classical pianist and composer Spearfisher engineered, recorded the vocals, mixed, and mastered the album. The closing track includes pianist Nicole Brancato, with Farrah singing entirely in Aramaic – the language spoken by Jesus – bringing the album to a reflective and deeply spiritual close.
Released through AngelSound Records, “Remembrance” represents the first full-length operatic and classical album from Farrah Mechael, signifying both a return to her artistic origins and a bold new phase in her career.
Long before becoming a recording artist, Farrah and Tamara Mechael were deeply involved in opera from childhood. They both performed with the Michigan Opera Theatre at the Detroit Opera House, appearing in well-known productions including Carmina Burana, Don Giovanni, Tosca, and La Bohème. Their musical upbringing also included singing sacred works in the Catholic Church, where centuries-old traditions of Latin chant and classical liturgical music helped shape their vocal technique. Opera served as the sisters’ earliest musical foundation and remained a lasting influence throughout their creative lives.
For Farrah, opera began even earlier.
While Farrah has become recognized for combining cinematic pop, orchestral arrangements, and emotionally driven songwriting over her independent career, “Remembrance” reveals a different facet of her artistry, highlighting the classical vocal training that initially defined her as a performer.
The collaboration also brings together a skilled creative team from the classical music world. Mehran Matin, a GRAMMY-nominated composer, contributes expressive performances that carry the emotional narrative across the album. Tamara Mechael, the album’s songwriter and lyricist, crafted the project, building the narrative and lyrical foundation that connects each movement of "Remembrance." Spearfisher is an accomplished classical pianist and composer for film and television whose engineering and production helped shape the project’s cinematic sound. The album concludes with a special performance by pianist Nicole Brancato, whose accompaniment underscores Farrah’s Aramaic vocal performance in the final movement.
Rather than reinterpreting existing opera repertoire, “Remembrance” delivers an entirely original work. Through soaring vocals, expressive piano, orchestral textures, and original poetry, the album explores universal themes of grief, remembrance, resilience, faith, and hope, offering listeners a contemporary classical experience while honoring opera’s traditions.
The release follows a notable year for the Mechael sisters. Most recently, Farrah and Tamara Mechael were appointed Ambassadors for Peace through the Universal Peace Federation, which holds ECOSOC status with the
