The songwriting muse doesn’t always arrive on a big stage. For Nashville-based Country/Americana artist Caryn Dixon, it came from a Wisconsin karaoke bar, and that real-life inspiration is now at the center of her latest release.

Inspired by a Wisconsin karaoke singer, the single arrives alongside a Nashville listening event.

NASHVILLE, TN, UNITED STATES, October 16, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Country/Americana artist Caryn Dixon has officially dropped her new single, “Star of Boscobel,” today, Friday, October 16. The track serves as the lead-up to her forthcoming EP, Where I’ve Been, which is slated for release on November 27. To mark the occasion, Dixon is hosting a listening event at The Bowery Vault, located at 2905 Gallatin Pike in Nashville, starting at 8:30 p.m. this evening.

The genesis of “Star of Boscobel” lies in a chance encounter with a woman Dixon identifies as a karaoke star in Wisconsin. In a unique twist, Dixon intends to feature this very woman in the song’s upcoming music video and has plans to record a duet version with her, giving audiences an intimate look at the person who sparked the track.

Scheduled for a December release, the music video will lean into a visual aesthetic defined by nighttime streetlights and twinkle lights. Dixon will also delve into the narrative behind the song during her performance at the Nashville listening event.

Dixon’s signature sound—a blend of country storytelling with folk, Americana, and alternative influences—carries through Where I’ve Been. The project draws heavily on her experiences as both a mother and an independent artist. The tracklist includes the title track, “High Tide,” “Something Somewhere,” “Star of Boscobel,” and “Running for Gold.”

The release comes on the heels of a successful UK run, where Dixon performed seven shows, four of which were sold out—one in Wales and three in England. Following the Wales performance, one piece of feedback read: “You’ve raised the bar very high now and I think we’ll have a riot on our hands if we don’t get you back next year.”

Her previous single, “Bird in a Cage,” continues to gain traction with airplay on Absolute Radio Country, and she also made an on-air appearance with the station during her UK tour.

This new chapter also finds Dixon speaking more candidly about her past with domestic abuse. As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October, she is sharing personal video content to raise awareness. Her return to music after a considerable hiatus offers a deeper perspective on the themes woven into her work.

“Star of Boscobel” is now available across digital streaming platforms as of October 16, with Where I’ve Been following on November 27.
