In an era when music is often consumed in isolated digital spaces, a new release from an Edmonds-based independent label reminds listeners that songs can still be built on human connection. Crazy Good Records has unveiled a five-song CD from the Seattle-area band 4EachOther, a project that grew directly out of the region’s open mic scene and carries a message of friendship and shared purpose.

Rooted in Seattle’s open mic scene, the five-piece band brings folk, rock, and blues together on a five-song EP.

The collection reflects the band’s conviction that music can forge friendships, strengthen communities, and create common ground among listeners.

The lineup features Andrew DeNance on guitar and vocals; Leroy Henry on 12-string guitar, vocals, and percussion; Lisa Lusk on ukulele, vocals, and percussion; Nelson Daggett on conga and percussion; and Russ Johnson on harmonica. Their origin story is rooted in a serendipitous encounter between Johnson and DeNance at a park bench in Edmonds, with Henry, Lusk, and Daggett joining later through connections made in Seattle’s open mic circuit.

4EachOther is affiliated with the Band Together collective, an initiative designed to support musicians and inspire people to make, share, and enjoy music collectively. That ethos is embedded in the CD’s central message: “We can hope that someone else will solve all the problems, or we can learn to live for each other.”

“What first drew me to 4EachOther was the connection between the songs and the people making them,” said Alan Hardwick, founder of Crazy Good Records. “They bring a sense of friendship and purpose to their music, but it doesn’t stop there. The band is laser-focused on bringing communities together. We’re really pleased to help bring that spirit to more listeners.”

Songs and recording credits
The EP’s standout track, “The Ballad of No-Repeat Miro,” serves as a tribute to Miro Jugum, a friend and well-known figure in Seattle’s open mic community who passed away in early 2025. The song channels the band’s communal roots into a memorial for someone who helped shape that musical circle.

Closing the album is DeNance’s lead vocal performance on “Chanson Pour Les Petits Enfants,” a song written and originally performed by Jimmy Buffett. That cover sits alongside original compositions by the band members, each reflecting their own friendships, stories, and musical community.

The five-song track list is:
1. Countryside Angel
2. Park Bench Blues
3. The Ballad of No-Repeat Miro
4. Mezcal Nights
5. Chanson Pour Les Petits Enfants

Guest musicians on the project include Andrew Lee Mason, who contributes bass guitar on “Park Bench Blues” and “Countryside Angel,” and Alan Hardwick, who produced the album and plays bass on three tracks.

Why it matters: This release underscores how grassroots music scenes can still produce meaningful work that prioritizes human connection over commercial polish. For listeners, the EP is a reminder that local artists often carry the most authentic stories — and that supporting them strengthens the cultural fabric of our own communities.
