NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, October 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Darvishi, an Iranian-American pop artist, has unveiled a fresh single titled “Jat Khali Nabood.” This new release arrives shortly after her earlier track “Jelo,” which came out in June of this year. “Jat Khali Nabood” is a lively Persian-infused pop song about moving forward from someone and recognizing that life improves without them. The title cleverly reworks the Persian expression “جات خالی بود” (“jat khali bood” / “your place was missed”) into “جات خالی نبود” (“jat khali nabood” / “your place wasn’t missed”). Whether marking the end of a friendship or a romantic relationship, the track captures that liberating instant when you understand you don’t truly miss the person you walked away from.

“I’ve always loved the Persian phrase ‘jat khali bood’ or ‘جات خالی بود,’ which means ‘your place was missed.’ It’s something I’ve said so many times throughout my life when telling someone about a fun night, a trip, or a moment I wished they could have been there. One day, I was thinking about the phrase, and I realized it definitely didn’t apply to everyone who had come and gone from my life. So, I thought it would be funny to flip the phrase and turn ‘jat khali bood’ into ‘jat khali nabood’ (‘your place wasn’t missed’). And from there, the idea for the song was born!” – Darvishi

Darvishi again worked with Addis and Korey Keys on writing “Jat Khali Nabood,” the same collaborative team behind “Jelo.” Nick “Squids” Squillante handled the mixing and mastering of the track. Together, the group blended dance-pop production with Persian-inspired touches and lyrics in both English and Farsi. “Jat Khali Nabood” transforms a breakup into a confident, joyful reminder that losing someone can sometimes open the door to something better.

Fans and newcomers can also anticipate seeing Darvishi perform at the Eastalgia Festival at Lake Piru on October 10th, and on October 29th for SoFar Sounds. For updates on future music and upcoming shows, audience members can find details on her website and Instagram page.
