The latest chapter of the Washington occult-noir audio drama carries the investigation to the Brewmaster's Castle and the authentic Gilded-Age tycoon anchoring Season 2
“When I visited the Heurich House years back, the story of brewmaster Christian Heurich truly captured my imagination. It’s a genuine thrill to turn this real-life figure into a character in our fiction.”— Marc Benjamin Langston, co-creator and showrunner of Dupont Investigations.
Flight of the Fallen, the second installment of Dupont Investigations, is available for streaming now across all major podcast platforms. Following the terrifying rooftop encounter that kicked off the season, occult detective Torsten Somersby and his colleague Nigel Clemmons are called to the residence of an actual Washington icon: brewer Christian Heurich.
Greeted by Heurich's manservant, Andrew Bell, the duo hears a chilling tale that has been brewing for seventy-five years, and they take on the mission of tracking down the winged creature stalking the city. Heurich was no fictional creation. A German immigrant who produced Senate beer, he stood as Washington's largest private employer for generations—trailing only the federal government—and constructed both the Foggy Bottom brewery and the Dupont Circle landmark still referred to as the Brewmaster's Castle. Once accused by newspapers of being a wartime spy, he now serves in Flight of the Fallen as the individual who points Torsten toward “the fallen.”
“After I toured the Heurich House several years ago, brewmaster Christian Heurich’s legacy fascinated me. I am so thrilled to bring this historical figure to life in fiction,” said Marc Benjamin Langston, Dupont Investigations co-creator and showrunner.
Those unfamiliar with the series can jump in at any point. Season 1, The Scourge from Carthage, spans six episodes and has surpassed 25,500 IAB Tech Lab-certified downloads, while Season 2 has been airing since its September 1 launch. Flight of the Fallen consists of six episodes, releasing new chapters every other Tuesday up to the November 10 season finale.
Dupont Investigations comes from the minds of Washington, DC-based co-creators and showrunners Marc Benjamin Langston (he/him), a long-form writer and attorney, and Bryce Bowyn (he/him), an electropop musician and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and mental health. Both hold the title of DC Arts and Humanities Fellows, honored for their impact on Washington as a premier cultural hub.
