The evening celebrates intoxicating songs from the Broadway stage, with stories and style from WLIW-FM’s “Broadway to Main Street” host Laurence Maslon
NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, July 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The live concert series Hamptons Summer Songbook by the Sea, which brings premier Broadway, cabaret, and American Songbook artists to the East End, is extending its third season with a performance by Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano titled “A Swell-egant, Elegant Party.” The event takes place at LTV Studios in Wainscott on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, at 7:30pm, with Laurence Maslon serving as both host and co-writer.
Guests are invited to lift a glass in a cocktail party-inspired, immersive setting, toasting some of the most captivating songs drawn from the Broadway stage and Hollywood studios. The program includes vintage hits that celebrate parties and spirited escapades, penned by Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Noël Coward, Jerry Herman, Stephen Sondheim, and many others. These will be delivered by the celebrated married musical duo, Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano.
Attendees can expect a magnum of melodious music, along with a story or two about Broadway’s Golden Age and a Hollywood twist, merging the elegance of classic cabaret with the sparkle of American popular song. Maslon, who hosts and produces WLIW-FM’s “Broadway to Main Street,” will steer the evening with the sharp wit and scholarly insight that have established him as one of musical theater’s most engaging commentators. Special craft cocktails, created by Maslon specifically for this event, will be offered throughout the night.
Comstock and Fasano, whose blend of warmth, wit, swing, and sensuality has made them one of the most celebrated duos in the nightclub world, arrive in Wainscott after another acclaimed recording success. Their latest CD, “Painting the Town,” which features tenor saxophone legend Houston Person, earned the 2026 Manhattan Association of Cabarets Award for Major Recording of the Year.

The New Yorker has commended Comstock’s “expert musicianship and joie de vivre,” while The New York Times has labeled Fasano “a lyrically sensitive interpreter” and described the pair as “smart, funny, and utterly delightful.” Their high-energy concerts draw from an ever-changing American Songbook, moving through jazz and pop standards by Duke Ellington, Harold Arlen, and Cole Porter, as well as singer-songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Carole King, and Bruce Springsteen.
Having won ten MAC Awards, five New York Bistro Awards, and the New York Nightlife Award, Comstock and Fasano also received the Donald F. Smith Award from the Mabel Mercer Foundation in recognition of their contributions to the global cabaret scene. Laurence Maslon is the host and producer of the local radio program, Broadway to Main Street, heard every Sunday afternoon for over fifteen years on the NPR radio station WLIW-FM. The program is winner of the 2019 ASCAP Foundation/Deems Taylor Award for Radio Broadcast.
