Soprano Brandie Inez Sutton invites audiences on an intimate musical exploration in her genre-crossing solo performance, Miss Sutton, Live!, featuring beloved and timeless selections from an eclectic mix of works by celebrated composers from around the globe and the present day. The performances are scheduled for Thursday, October 8, and Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at 54 Below, located at 254 Street, Cellar, New York, NY.
Recognized by The New York Times, soprano Brandie Inez Sutton possesses a “warm, ample voice,” delivers a “ravishing performance,” and brings a “distinctly earthy coloring” to her artistry. Sutton is recognized for her remarkable flexibility and emotional range, earning praise for a voice of “sumptuous richness,” as noted by Opera News.
With musical arrangements and creative partnerships from esteemed music director Joseph Joubert, the program will showcase Sutton’s technical brilliance as a top-tier performer across an array of genres, from operatic arias and art songs to spirituals, jazz, pop, classical, Broadway, and Disney favorites. The evening is helmed by director Richard Jay-Alexander, featuring Brandie Inez Sutton, whose vocal foundation lies in classical mastery and whose artistic focus celebrates narrative in all its forms.

This autumn, Sutton is also set to make her eagerly awaited debut at Opéra de Monte-Carlo, taking on the role of Clara in The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. Staged at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo, Monaco, the show is slated for November 15, 19, and 21, 2026, placing Sutton on one of Europe’s most prestigious operatic platforms. The run features a special performance by royal invitation as part of Monaco’s National Day festivities on November 19, followed by a gala show on November 21, highlighting the production’s importance in the company’s 2026–2027 season. This engagement marks yet another key achievement in her flourishing worldwide career, adding to a repertoire that has been celebrated for its vocal richness, dramatic intensity, and stylistic adaptability in opera, concert, and crossover settings. As Sutton continues to raise her profile on premier international stages, this debut with Opéra de Monte-Carlo further cements her status as one of today’s standout American sopranos and signals a fresh phase in her artistic path.
After her time in France, Sutton will start rehearsals for her debut in a leading role in the chamber opera ELIZA, which tells the story of the African Market Women who managed the Charleston City Market for over two centuries with their resilience during the Revolutionary War. With music by Armand Hutton and libretto by Karen Chilton, ELIZA premieres December 16, 2026, at the University of South Carolina-Beaufort’s Koger Center in South Carolina.
Brandie Inez Sutton has a long-standing affiliation with the Metropolitan Opera, where her credits include the Fairy Godmother in Massenet’s Cendrillon and First Niece in Britten’s Peter Grimes, as well as her debut as Clara in Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess.
Her professional journey began with a highly praised debut as Rautendelein in Respighi’s La Campana Sommersa with the New York City Opera, a role that opened doors to professional management and subsequent appearances at The Met.
Sutton has performed on international stages at prominent venues such as Theater an der Wien, Teatro Petruzzelli, Semperoper Dresden, Hamburg State Opera, and Oper Frankfurt, and has worked with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra on numerous occasions. Her contributions to the Equal Justice Initiative include a lasting installation at the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama.
