Otoha AI Music Player

Otoha Player
The iOS and macOS app offers speed control, sentence and A-B loops, auto-generated captions, and AI-powered explanations for focused repetition of a single passage
TAITO, TOKYO, JAPAN, July 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Otoha, the audio player for iOS and macOS developed by ChainBow Co., Ltd., brings together all the tools needed for repeated listening on a single playback screen—designed for students prepping for exams, working through a class, or analyzing a foreign-language podcast line by line.
The issue it tackles is quite specific. When someone misses a phrase, finding it again on a standard player means sliding a progress bar, overshooting the spot, and sliding back. Otoha replaces that with a set of controls built around repetition.
Playback can be slowed from 0.5x up to 3x while maintaining the original pitch, so a slower passage keeps its key and voices stay natural. A sentence loop repeats the current line. An A-B loop repeats any chosen segment. A short rewind jumps back a few seconds without losing the current location, and the app picks up exactly where the listener last paused.
For content without a transcript, Otoha creates timed, line-by-line subtitles directly from the audio, letting users read a missed sentence instead of hunting for it. Subtitles can also come from embedded tags, imported LRC and SRT files, or an online lyric search, and any line can be corrected once and saved.
When a line is heard but not understood, an AI explanation can clarify vocabulary, grammar, connected speech, or a cultural reference, and users can ask follow-up questions. Playback keeps going while the explanation is open.
"The gap in listening practice is rarely the audio," said Long LI, CEO of ChainBow Co., Ltd. "It is the fifteen seconds of fumbling between missing a line and hearing it again. We spent most of this release on those fifteen seconds."
Listening statistics are based on actual playback time rather than total session time, which yields different data than a session timer would.
The app is used for TOEIC, TOEFL, and IELTS preparation, school assignments, language courses, and personal audio collections. The same controls work for instrumental practice, where a passage can be slowed without altering its key and a short section repeated while learning by ear.
Speed control, loops, subtitles, and transcription are available with no ads and no account needed. On-device AI explanations are free on Apple Intelligence-capable devices running iOS 26 or later. Cloud-based AI explanations and subtitle translation are offered as an optional subscription.
