When a comedy character built on a Soviet-era tracksuit and a misplaced phone amasses over 300 million views, the next logical step isn’t a sitcom deal—it’s a music video. That’s exactly where Sergei Putinsky lands now, trading social media clips for a starring role in a pop-rap satire that sends him to Canada by mistake.

Sergei Putinsky Stars In Absurd Father Of Zen Video "Oh Melania!"

I come to Canada cause it's the only place you can't drink outside but smoking crack at a bus stop is fine”— SergeiVANCOUVER, BC, CANADA, October 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Sergei Putinsky, recognized across social media as one of the fastest-rising comedic acts of the year, has turned that momentum into a new collaboration. His videos have surpassed 300 million views worldwide, with the character—identifiable by an orange hammer-and-sickle tracksuit, heavy gold chains, wrap-around sunglasses, and a chunky 1980s mobile phone—now a mainstream fixture. The act has even drawn public praise from comedians like Tom Segura and Bill Burr, cementing Putinsky’s place in modern pop-culture parody.

That visibility now feeds into a fresh project, as Putinsky headlines the satirical music video for Father of Zen’s debut single "Oh Melania!" The pop/dance/rap cut and its accompanying visual tell the story of a Russian man who loses his love, Melania, to the United States and the "orange man." Confident that his matching orange tracksuit levels the playing field, Putinsky’s character pursues her—until a paperwork mix-up reroutes him, and he winds up stranded in Canada.

Musically, "Oh Melania!" leans into the playful, high-octane pop/rap style that recalls 1990s hitmaker Right Said Fred. The video fully commits to over-the-top absurdity, echoing the chaotic charm of viral moments like "Gangam Style" while keeping its own comedic voice. And despite the politically charged surface, the creators stress the project is entirely apolitical—just lighthearted nostalgia and slapstick.
"I come to Canada cause it's the only place you can't drink outside but smoking crack at a bus stop is fine" said Sergei.

Father of Zen operates as a multi-genre project with a songwriter-producer core, built to chase ideas wherever they lead. The creator says "Oh Melania!" emerged from a spontaneous spark after watching Putinsky live. "I'm a big fan of Sergei, from the first time I saw him," explained the creator behind Father of Zen. "One day I was talking to him after one of his shows and I said, 'Man, you could really use a music video or something.' The second the words escaped my lips it was like I was in The Blues Brothers when the holy light hit me. I think I went home and slept on it, and when I woke up the next day the the idea was already fully formed and I immediately put it together. It took a while to get it done and longer still for the video, but I couldn't be much happier for how it turned out. Sergei is a legend to me."

Father of Zen has already released all songs from the album as individual singles on major streaming platforms. Next up is a winter celebration trip. "I plan to celebrate the full release by taking a trip to Calgary at the end of February to catch comedian Sam Morril," the creator noted. "What better way to honor Sergei than to go to Calgary in February? It's cheaper and closer than Siberia with All the charm."

Oh Melania! feat Sergei Putinsky

Why it matters: This collaboration signals how far viral comedy can stretch beyond short clips, pushing into music and video with a mainstream audience already in place. It also shows that even politically charged premises can stay purely entertaining when the creators keep the focus on absurdity rather than agenda.
