When a free community festival draws thousands downtown and pairs a Grammy-winning headliner with a urgent health message, it’s more than just a concert—it’s a statement. Space City Fest, now in its fifth year and presented by McCune Electric, is set to take over Discovery Green on Sunday, October 25, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Organizers expect attendance to jump to over 4,500 people, up from more than 3,000 in 2025, as the event continues its mission to inspire Houstonians through faith, hope, and love.

Free, family-friendly festival brings Grammy-winning headliner Lecrae, along with Lizzie Morgan, Miles Minnick, Lin D, and more to downtown Houston

This year’s lineup is headlined by Grammy Award-winning artist Lecrae, with additional headliners Lizzie Morgan, Miles Minnick, and Lin D. More performers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Kiotti, a nationally syndicated iHeartRadio DJ and the in-arena host for the Houston Rockets, will serve as the event emcee.

“I’m proud to come home to Houston, where I was born,” said Lecrae. “This new generation is looking for positive outlets, and that’s what we all hope to bring through our work.”

Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Space City Fest organizers are asking all attendees to wear pink to this year’s event as a visible show of community support and remembrance.

“My sister passed away from breast cancer, and it’s something that stays with me every single day,” said Vaughaligan “Von Won” Walwyn, Lead Pastor at Space City Church and Event Producer of Space City Fest. “Young women are being diagnosed at rising rates and that’s why this year we wanted Space City Fest to connect faith, community, and self-care in one place. We hope that people leave inspired and reminded to take care of themselves and each other.”

According to the American Cancer Society’s 2026 cancer statistics report, breast cancer incidence has continued to rise in recent years, driven especially by increases among younger women. Guests will be encouraged to schedule mammogram screenings at The Rose, a Houston-based breast healthcare organization.

Space City Fest will be held at Discovery Green in downtown Houston. The event is free and open to the public, with vendor activations, live performances, and community resources spread throughout the park.

Why it matters: By weaving a critical public health message into a free, family-friendly concert, Space City Fest demonstrates how community events can do more than entertain—they can save lives. The push for mammogram screenings and the personal story of loss from the event’s producer underscore a growing crisis among younger women, making this year’s festival a potential turning point for awareness in Houston.
