ASHEVILLE, NC, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — NewSong Music is currently inviting submissions of original songs for its 2026 Performance and Songwriting Competition. Since 2001, the initiative’s curated showcases have remained a staple within the national music landscape. The competition’s final round, previously held at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City, moved to Asheville, N.C. in 2017.
Entries must be submitted by the final deadline of Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST.
Every participant in the 2026 competition qualifies for a 5% discount on vinyl pressing jobs at Citizen Vinyl, a premier pressing plant known for its exceptional quality in North America.
Eight finalists, chosen from advanced online applications originating across North America and beyond, will travel to Asheville to perform, compete, and network. A jury composed of music industry professionals will choose one grand prize winner, who will receive a fully funded six-song EP, along with 300 vinyl copies of that winning project manufactured at Citizen Vinyl.
Previous NewSong winners include Crys Matthews (Nashville, TN), Jobi Riccio (Nashville, TN), AC Sapphire (Portland, OR), and Slow Runner (Saluda, NC). The 2025 Grand Prize Winner was Susan Anderson (Asheville, NC).

The finale of the 2026 NewSong Music Performance & Songwriting Competition will be held in Asheville, NC, at The Grey Eagle on Sunday, October 25.
