Lakeside Struttin' Band Marks Two Decades of Collaboration
Making music together brings us great happiness. Our sound has never been stronger.”— Tyrone HashimotoTOKYO, JAPAN, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Tyrone Hashimoto and His Lakeside Struttin' Band are slated to perform at the Sometime Jazz Club on Friday, October 2, 2026, with the show beginning at 17:30pm. The Lakeside Struttin' Band, a well-loved musical act at Sometime Jazz Club, is commemorating 20 years of making music as a group.
Hashimoto (Shunichi Suzuki) is a skilled Japanese singer-songwriter, composer, arranger, performer, music producer, educator, and voice-over artist, with 9 solo albums recorded in English and a repertoire of more than 600 original songs and jingles crafted for numerous global brands. Hashimoto’s soul-infused original tracks, recorded both in Japan and the United States, have opened doors for him to collaborate with top-tier musicians and producers worldwide, such as the late Joe Sample, David T Walker, Leroy Bell, Bobby Watson (Rufus), and Peter Bunetta and Rick Chudacoff (Kenny G, The Temptations, Michael Bolton).
Alongside Tyrone Hashimoto, the Lakeside Struttin' Band includes several of Japan's most accomplished musicians and teachers.
Miho Usuda (Keys & Vocal) serves as a musician and educator and was a founding member of the Lakeside Struttin' Band, contributing many original pieces to Eco Music Colors, a program aired on Sky PerfecTV!. As a recording artist in her own right, Usuda's album "Representation" highlighted her songwriting abilities. Her track "It's Time To Go – A New Day, A New Month" achieved the No. 1 spot on the iTunes New Age Music Chart. Working as a composer and producer for visual media, Usuda actively pursues projects that blend music and visual art through creative concert experiences. Since 2014, she has led and taught the "Miu Music Choir," a community choir initiative for adults. In 2024, she broadened the project by introducing new choir classes in Kamakura and Hamamatsu.
Mitsuhiro Ueda (Drums) draws deep inspiration from the heritage of African-American music, dedicating himself to capturing the groove, feel, and "one-note" approach of soul and funk drumming. As both a student and educator, Ueda trained under Akiyuki Higuchi at AN Music School, graduating with honors, and has spent fifteen years as an instructor in the Drum Department at AN Music School. Ueda's wide-ranging performance history includes work with Masaki Ueda, SWEEP, SUPERSONICS, MIREI TOUYAMA, YOKE a.k.a. DJREDBLOOD, mic.b a.k.a. 73Pike Set, Dario Ponissi, Darek Jackson, and numerous others. He also took part in the musical The Big Ladies Club, starring Kumiko Mori. Since 2007, he has been a drummer for Yuka Kamebuchi & Voice Of Japan, receiving acclaim from noted playwright and director Tetsuro Takahira. Ueda has been part of the Lakeside Struttin' Band since 2020.
Mitsuru Kanekuni (Saxes & Flute) has spent decades active in Japan's rock, pop, and fusion scenes, recognized as one of the few saxophonists whose playing carries the authentic spirit and energy of rock. Kanekuni started his career performing at live venues and in recording sessions, later joining the legendary rock band Creation. He then formed his own group, Euphoria, releasing three albums through Meldac record label. In 2000, he established BeatNuts, putting out the album "Power Zone" via Columbia Music Entertainment. Kanekuni has performed and recorded with a variety of artists, including Ryudo-gumi, Southern All Stars, and the Stanley Clarke Trio (featuringLenny White and Hiromi Uehara) at Blue Note Tokyo
and Bunkamura Orchard Hall.
