Venera broadens automated QC to verify Audio Definition Model metadata, aiding the industry shift toward Next Generation Audio
Venera Technologies, a frontrunner in automated media Quality Control solutions, has revealed new Audio Definition Model (ADM) quality control features within its Quasar® cloud-native and Pulsar™ on-premises QC platforms. These capabilities are set to be showcased at IBC 2026, Hall 7, Stand 7.D45 (September 11-14, Amsterdam).
ADM is a foundational technology for Next Generation Audio (NGA), allowing audio content to be described via metadata that facilitates object-based, scene-based, and channel-based audio experiences. As ADM usage increases, automated verification of this metadata becomes essential for guaranteeing interoperability and dependable downstream processing.
Quasar and Pulsar now offer more than 20 new ADM-specific QC checks. Through ADM support in Quasar and Pulsar, Venera expands automated QC beyond conventional audio measurements to include validation of the metadata that defines how audio is structured and meant to be processed. This lets organizations detect ADM-related problems earlier in the workflow and helps ensure that audio assets satisfy technical and delivery specifications before reaching downstream production, playout, or distribution systems.
Venera Takes Part in EBU ADM Implementers Group
As a leading QC vendor, Venera is also an active member of the EBU ADM Implementers Group (ADM-IG), a European Broadcast Union-backed industry initiative that unites broadcasters and technology providers to speed up practical implementation and interoperability of ADM and S-ADM.
The group tackles real-world implementation challenges, interoperability testing, and practical guidance for incorporating ADM into production and delivery workflows. Its 2026 activities include work on EBU QC for Audio and ADM, making automated quality control a key component of the industry’s ADM implementation efforts.
“ADM is a crucial step toward more flexible, immersive, and personalized audio experiences, but its successful adoption depends on reliable metadata throughout the media workflow,” said Vikas Singhal, CEO of Venera Technologies. “Our involvement in the EBU ADM Implementers Group gives us a chance to contribute to the industry’s work while delivering practical, automated ADM QC capabilities directly into Quasar and Pulsar.”
