Award-winning composer Victoria Kuan, known formally as Hueimin Kuan, has released two new original compositions that showcase her remarkable range as a musician. “The Queen Ascends,” an epic cinematic orchestral piece, and “When You Love Me,” her first officially released English-language pop and R&B single, arrive simultaneously on all major streaming platforms.
The dual release represents a deliberate artistic expansion for Kuan, who first earned international recognition through her work in film scoring. Her original composition “Soul of God” collected multiple international film festival awards and official selections, establishing her reputation for emotionally resonant orchestral work. She followed that with “The Last Dynasty,” which earned Best Original Score honors at IndieX Film Fest and Indie Short Fest, along with Best Instrumental recognition at the Los Angeles Film Awards and Festigious International Film Festival.
“The Queen Ascends” builds on that cinematic foundation with sweeping orchestration that evokes themes of resilience, leadership, and transformation. The composition unfolds with the narrative arc of a film score, guiding listeners through dramatic peaks and contemplative valleys without a single word of dialogue.
“When You Love Me” takes Kuan in a strikingly different direction.
