This annual ceremony is set for Thursday, July 30, at the historic Avalon Hollywood in Southern California. The festivities start at 5:30 p.m. with a red carpet packed with media, then proceed to the main awards presentation and an exclusive Afterparty.

A standout highlight this year is a unique live performance by Tyson Ritter, lead singer of The All-American Rejects, who will also act as a presenter. Ritter is a co-founder of Playhouse.band, a direct-to-fan booking platform enabling artists to organize intimate backyard concerts and shows in unconventional spaces outside the standard concert hall setup. Playhouse functions as a strategic partner of the HIMA.
Ghost Rocket Music Management will present the Official Afterparty. Since the Afterparty includes a hosted bar, guests can receive Free Uber Rides courtesy of RADD (Recording Artists Against Drunk Driving) and Flywheel. This highly sought-after networking gathering is anticipated to reach full capacity.
Over the course of this celebrity-filled evening, the HIMA will recognize independent artists, composers, songwriters, record labels, publishers, and technical recording experts from around the globe for their artistic contributions to independent music.

HIMA music categories span a wide array of mainstream genres and sub-genres typical of a major music awards event, while also shining a light on behind-the-scenes talent like sound mixers, recording engineers, producers, independent publishers, and record labels. HIMA stands as the first and only music awards show to feature the Adult Contemporary Hip Hop (ACH) category.
This year’s primary HIMA event will include live musical performances, celebrity appearances, a VIP pre-show mixer featuring hors d’oeuvres, award presentations, and a hosted-bar Afterparty to conclude the evening.
Scheduled live performers include Tyson Ritter, Sophie Pecora, Bandon Jarrett, Neena Rose, Melle Baby, Finlay, Sam Opoku, Jay Diamondz, and others.
