LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 5, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Peter Zongting Li, a Sound Supervisor and Re-Recording Mixer based in Los Angeles, has finished his work on the feature film The Pool Boy. The movie had its premiere on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The screening received enthusiastic applause from a full house, with audience members highlighting the film’s immersive sound as a standout element of the evening.

The Pool Boy runs two hours and seventeen minutes, merging crime, comedy, romance, and conspiracy. Its story centers on a diligent young Black man pursuing his ambitions in Los Angeles who, because he is exceptionally handsome and overly courteous, becomes entangled in the machinations and selfishness of a politician. The script is witty, the narrative keeps viewers engaged, and the cast performs consistently well.

Peter acted as Sound Supervisor and Re-Recording Mixer, crafting each element of the film’s audio from design and dialogue through to the final mix. “Hearing my own mix in an IMAX room is honestly a dream come true,” he remarked. The movie is rich with his sound design, including inventive interplay between music and effects that lend the comedy its rhythm and the conspiracy its suspense.

Joyce Fitzpatrick produced The Pool Boy, guiding the film from production to release with steady oversight. The film was written and directed by Brian Shackelford, a remarkably meticulous and patient filmmaker whose attention to detail is evident in every shot; his narrative structure offers genuine depth beneath the entertainment, blending meaning and unexpected twists into a plot that keeps viewers guessing.

The Pool Boy arrives as a paid release on November 8 on Amazon Prime, Google TV, and Apple TV, and streams free beginning December 10 on Tubi, Roku, Peacock, and Plex.

Next, Peter will focus entirely on Funky P, an original animated comedy series where he will serve as both director and sound supervisor. He intends to apply the same level of craftsmanship he brought to The Pool Boy — the most humorous writing he can create, the most dynamic voice acting he can cast, and the most refined sound design and mixing he can achieve — and to present it all to the world.
