Three-Day Program Includes Professional K-POP Choreographers, Dance Sessions, and a Live Showcase

From September 18 to 20, the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) will host the 2026 K-POP Academy in San Francisco at UC Berkeley, giving K-POP enthusiasts throughout the Bay Area and San Francisco a chance to learn from professional choreographers currently active in the K-POP industry.
The three-day event, organized with local assistance from the America K-POP Association (AKA) and the Center for Korean Studies at UC Berkeley, includes both beginner and advanced dance classes, culminating in a live showcase at the San Francisco Ferry Building.
Two distinct class tracks are offered. Beginner One-Day Classes run from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on September 18 and 19, offering a friendly and enjoyable setting for participants to get an easy start with K-POP choreography.
The Advanced Class, scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on September 18 and 19, delivers more rigorous training in choreography, musical interpretation, movement dynamics, teamwork, and stage presence. Those in the advanced track will then take part in the Academy’s closing showcase on September 20.
TED (Jaehee Choi) and EZY (Jihun Lee) are leading the program—two professional dancers and choreographers with broad experience in K-POP performances, tours, music videos, and artist coaching.
TED was the leader of the dance crew EO-DDAE on Mnet’s Street Man Fighter and served as a performance director for Whee In’s world tour and fan concert. His choreography work includes IVE’s “I AM,” HyunA’s “Attitude,” and Kep1er’s MAMA Awards performance. He has also been a main dancer for artists such as ROSÉ, NewJeans, HWASA, PSY, HyunA, and Uhm Jung Hwa.
EZY has appeared in major K-POP stages and music videos including LE SSERAFIM’s “Smart” and “Crazy,” JEON SOMI’s “Fast Forward,” NewJeans’ “Super Shy,” JISOO’s “EARTHQUAKE,” and CHUNG HA’s “I’m Ready” and “Algorithm.” His background also includes teaching and workshops at Hanlim Arts High School and 1MILLION Dance Studio.
Throughout the Academy, TED and EZY will go beyond simply teaching steps; they will help participants grasp how K-POP performances are constructed for the stage. Instruction will emphasize musicality, movement quality, performance energy, and individual expression, drawing on the instructors’ firsthand industry experience.
The program wraps up on September 20 with a live showcase held alongside the Chuseok Korean Cultural Festival at the San Francisco Ferry Building. The festival runs from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the K-POP Academy’s Advanced Class participants are scheduled to perform at 3:00 p.m.
This showcase gives participants a chance to bring together everything they learned during the two-day intensive and perform before a live festival audience.

As K-POP continues to expand through dance, social media, workshops, and live performance, KCCLA aims to create more chances for audiences to engage directly with Korean culture while strengthening ties with K-POP and dance communities throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area.
