A New Live Show Honoring the Music, Stories, and Legacy of One of America's Finest Songwriters; Tickets Are Available Now

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, August 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Today, producers Right Angle Entertainment and Maple Tree Entertainment unveiled that The Billy Joel Legacy: A Tribute Experience will embark on a national tour covering more than 35 U.S. cities, kicking off on September 17 at The Palace Theatre in Stamford, Connecticut. This brand-new concert production, coming from the same acclaimed creative team that brought The Simon & Garfunkel Story and The Life and Music of George Michael to life, pays tribute to one of music history's most influential singer-songwriters. It features faithful live renditions, impressive multimedia, and the fascinating stories behind the songs that have won over fans across generations. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at www.BillyJoelLegacy.com.
This tribute experience goes beyond a typical concert. By combining live music, cinematic visuals, and engaging storytelling, audiences will be taken on a journey through the key milestones of Billy Joel's life, uncovering the individuals, locations, and events that sparked the creation of some of the most iconic songs ever composed.
"The music of Billy Joel has an incredible ability to connect with audiences across generations," says creator and director Dean Elliott. "Whether you grew up with these songs or you're hearing them for the first time, they tell stories that feel deeply personal. We wanted audiences to experience the journey behind the music and celebrate one of the greatest songbooks ever written."
Stepping into the role of Billy Joel is singer, pianist, and actor Ian Benjamin, whose lifelong connection to Joel's music began as a teenager and has remained a constant throughout his career.
"Billy Joel's music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember," says Benjamin. "His songs are honest, heartfelt, and incredibly relatable. That's why they've connected with generations of listeners. It will be an honor to step on stage each night and celebrate the music and the stories that mean so much to me, and so many others."
Audiences will sing along to beloved classics including "Piano Man," "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant," "New York State of Mind," "Uptown Girl," "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)," "Vienna," "We Didn't Start the Fire," and many more. Enhanced by multimedia projections, the production celebrates the songs that defined generations while revealing the stories that made them timeless.
Billy Joel has sold more than 160 million records worldwide, won six GRAMMY Awards, and been inducted into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame. He is also the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors and the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
